Financial statements and audit
Your company has closed its fiscal year and needs reliable financial statements, with an audit report where applicable, ready for approval at the shareholders' meeting and filing with the regulatory authorities.
This page covers the preparation and audit of annual financial statements. For management information for decision-making, see Management reporting; for the corporate registry filing itself, that is coordinated with the firm's corporate law team.

What the engagement covers
We organize the fiscal year's accounting information and prepare the full set of financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in equity, and cash flow statement, with their notes and schedules. Preparation follows the professional accounting standards issued by the FACPCE and adopted by the professional councils, under the framework applicable to each entity.
When the company is subject to an audit requirement, we coordinate the issuance of the auditor's report under the applicable auditing standards. The goal is for the statements to fairly reflect the entity's financial position and results.
Filing with the IGJ and other authorities
Corporations and other entities subject to this requirement must file their financial statements with the Superintendency of Corporations (IGJ) within the deadlines set by the registry rules, together with the documentation of the meeting that approved them. We assist in assembling the filing and submitting it on time.
We work in an integrated way with the rest of the year-end obligations: approval by the management body, calling and holding the shareholders' meeting, and its subsequent registration where applicable.
Common mistakes
- Leaving preparation until the deadline and missing the IGJ filing deadlines
- Recording transactions without sufficient supporting documentation
- Failing to reconcile bank accounts or third-party balances before year-end
- Omitting information in notes and schedules that the standards require to be disclosed
- Approving statements at the meeting that were not previously reviewed in detail
