Notes and schedules accompanying financial statements (LGS art. 65)
Article 65 of the General Companies Law requires notes and supplementary schedules containing information not otherwise presented in the balance sheet or income statement; they are deemed part of the financial statements.
What article 65
Article 65 governs the notes and supplementary schedules that form part of the financial statements.
Where information is not contained in the financial statements or their notes, notes and schedules shall be attached and shall be deemed part of those statements. The statutory list—including assets with restricted availability, encumbered assets, valuation criteria, contingencies and similar matters—is illustrative rather than exhaustive.

Commentary
The notes explain and complete the numbers: valuation policies, encumbered assets, contingencies, and subsequent events. They are as much a part of the financial statements as the balance sheet itself; omission can impair the quality of disclosure and support qualifications or challenges.
